  • UI sounds way too quiet

After the patch the UI sounds (in the menu) are suddenly really quiet. It's hard to hear them at all.

It has certainly to do with what they added in the file "game_sounds_ui.txt":

I have no clue about the intention of this new text, but after I changed the values behind "input2[*]" to the values behind "volume" everything was normal again.

Wasn't this Valve's intentional response to all the people whining that these sounds were too loud?

i don't know. if it was they could have just reduduced the normal volume. they didn't have to add 10 more lines for each sound. also: right now the sound is pretty much non-existent.

Hmm good question, I'd like to know too. I was one of the few that really liked those sound effects at normal volume -_-.

If you can't hear how good the UI sounds are now compared to how bad they were before (clipping, too much bass) then perhaps your speakers / headphones are not good enough.

New sounds are great compared to the old ones.
