  • Spectators voting for MVP, that players are able to see votes at end of game.

If spectators are able to vote for MVP (possibly LVP) that players are able to view by the time the game ends, that would be nice. When a players' game ends and the scoreboard pops up, if there was a symbol/badge next to their name marking them MVP by spectator's choice, that would be nice.

Spectators would be able to vote and change their vote until an ancient fortress is destroyed, and at that moment the votes are tallied up and the symbol is shown next to the MVP's name. It would probrably be better if the vote count for heros during the game is hidden until the very end (if the number is going to be shown at all) because knowing the numbers could change novice's opinions of who is the most valuable player. However, the number of people who voted should be shown so that the players know if the MVP award was a general consensus over a large group of spectators, rather than just two people. (This can also lead to a minimum count of votes for a MVP award to show).

Also I'm not sure if it is visible now, but the scoreboard should show the players how many spectators are visible, as of that moment.

Big + for the MVP thing. Really like this idea, would be a bit more exciting to spectate live games with this little feature. Although, as you said you should hide the votes till the very finish.

A really big "+" here aswell for MVP voting from spectators! However, since there is a 2 minute delay the voting needs to be done before 2 minutes before the ending of the match you are spectating (when the real time of the match ends), the players will see the result in the scoreboard as mentioned and the spectators will see it after those 2 minutes when their "spectating game" is over and the scoreboard is shown.

i think is kind of hard...
Couse there are roles that can not easily be compared to each other.
Voting for mvp is going to motivate everyone to play carry and be selfish!
this has to be well thought, maybe rating 2 players: 1 as mvp and other as support, idk..

Excellent idea! You could expand this into all sorts of areas. You could have voting for a lot of different things about the game. For votes to count the spectators would have to have viewed a certain percentage of the game through to the end.

most games don't get spectated at all I think, so the impact is nearly zero
                    specs for bugreports:

                    AMD Radeon HD 8750M

Yeah I know what you mean. I also considered a more rigorous voting system with top carry, top support/tank, ...etc but then it would be too flashy and confusing. A most simple layout with one badge/icon to represent MVP status is prob best.

Also if it gets to the pro levels, something like this wont prevent all members in a team playing a carry. Although I do see that most of the time the votes will be going to the carry, the carry is called "carry" for a reason.

yeah, I know what you mean. But there are always like 3 games with full 64 players in the live-spectate mode. its just a fun system that would be interesting if implemented.

The problem here would be the 2 min delay, but GREAT idea, i support!

I think most of the dota players are already good enough to see how well supports have played to vote for them on MVP sometimes (most valuable player). And yes the voting would be needed to be done earlier. But I think this idea is really awesome especially when it comes to pro games and thousands of people will be watching them. DotA is quite boring to watch and this would improve it!
Big + for the whole thing

And by the way no need for LVP - quite demotivating. Also, MVP is enough, best tank, support etc. is too complicated

i think the dire should vote mvp for the radiant and the radiant vote mvp for the dire because as stated not alot of games get spectated so not alot of people would get mvp awards and if they add a profile system into the game we could see how many mvp awards a person has earned and also it could be an achievment
