If you honestly think people will be downloading hacks to somehow take away the fog and then tell them where the enemies are then people must be pretty fucking desperate.

The entire purpose of someone spectating a live game, even if it's 5-10 seconds delay, is to give the person insight on what to buy or when to push or farm jungle. New players don't have a sense of what they should be doing and when at first, and this would enable them to have a better idea of what to do.

If anyone says this crap is maphacking you're out of your mind. Not everyone uses shit like this to hack and cheat.

+1 because this isn't and wouldnt be an exploit

People should really lean to read OP, this funciton is already in HON, you spectate a friend live, but you are locked to his screen (Player perspective). would be an awsome feature in dota aswell. just the ability to go 100% player perspective, including fog but realtime.
      big YES to this!

Also, at tournaments, the teams have a manager wathing over their back, keeping track of roshtiming, doing strategy and what so ever. This feature would allow teams to bring their manager/brain into the games when gaming online.

Real time spectating (as an option) without the directed camera would be an excellent addition for practice games.

If you join a lobby as spectator, this is how it currently is.

this is about beeing able to right click a friend, and watch his game/perspective in realtime. including matchmaking. etc.

Someone had the right idea earlier:
Make the player invite the friend to spectate over his shoulder, rather than all friends automatically having that option. That way you don't need to clean your friends list every time you play a game.

That seems like a good idea. It is a good idea. Sadly there are a few gaps to cover... well, I don't think we can cover them all, anyway. There will always be "connections" that can lead to "maphacking".

Well, I would like to the see the option for all practice games. Sort of like we currently have the "allow spectators" check box in the game setup, have an "allow live spectating" check box, defaulted to off. It would show up in the game parameters, and would be pretty obvious to any serious game. Have it be turned off globally for all ranked matches.

Solution: If you have friends in both teams, you cannot spectate without delay. Unless it's in a practice lobby I guess.

Was that really hard to figure out?

                    @OP

                    This would be great, +1.

                    • You should have to set it up with your friend before the game starts. Otherwise, if you had a friend on let's say Radiant side, you could try to "coach" a Dire player and view their team in real time, relaying the information to your friend.

Solution: Remove your friend. Talk over Skype.

                          • You can easely speak with ur friend and tell him what's going on in the game if he has a 15s delay. Roshan, wards, smokes, tps (enemy's actions)...all that can be avoided in the early game, when the game isnt fast enough.

                            NO!

                            • In matchmaking and tournament lobby, definitely NO!

in other mode i don't care
BAD person is someone who only think that he/she is a pro and others are noob and then blame the Matchmaking challenge.
GOOD person is someone who accept the Matchmaking challenge and succeeded getting a teamwork in his/her team

Obviously if you aren't friends with anyone in the team you wouldn't be able to real time spectate, the fuck are you talking about?

EDIT: Jesus fuck I'm a huge retard, this came up on google search and I didn't realize it's old as hell
