  • Filter on live games

I was wondering if a filter on live games would be good.

I found my self trying to watch some games that were going on but i couldn´t find it. Like games of a tournament. Is it a good idea to enable everyone to see a tournament´s final with their own camera? My suggestion to put this in practice would be to add a filter on the live games.

I asked my self if there was something bad about it, is there?

    Suggestion:

-Add a filter for different heroes on live and recent games, so we can find specific games with heroes we want. Not just one option for heroes but maybe combos like 2 or 3 heroes.

Also could be added to learn section.
Zecon: "Maybe on the learn tab you could select hereos and then it would filter like that (and you could potentially select multiple to make it where you want to see a certain pair in the game)"

-Create a filter for live games with people name, so we can find specific games with specific players.

edit: updated with suggestions we got.

    Sure!
Everyday I try to find the games that Dendi, Tobi or Luminous, but it's impossible... Lots of games happening at the same time and no filter on Live Games.

    Dota2 needs it immediately!

I also want to see a HERO filter... I usually prefer spectating one particular hero/character, and it would be nice to remove games that don't have that hero.

+1 to that. Would fit nicely into the LEARN section, with a context menu item "Watch games with this hero"

Is there any way of watching private games?

I don´t think so, because if we can watch it would be the end for caster´s like Tobi. So, if the filter is added for sure their casts wouldn´t be so necessary.

I really don´t know the answer, appreciate if someone gives me it.

I don't really know about this one, but every Steam ID has a code. If you put it together with a console command in DotA 2, you automatically go the game being played by that guy, if of course, he is playing. Forget about not MM games with "don't allow observers" checked

I'd like, when you click on your "most played heroes", when you click on one of them, every replay with using that hero will show up. Just like using your name and hero name in the filter of replays.

The same when checking another player stats, first clicking on one of their "most succesful heroes" pictures, and then there should be a section saying "see heroes played by this player" and adding the previous feature.

Actually, what would be better IMO is for them to have specially selected replays that give good examples of these heroes playing. Otherwise, you could end up watching a game where someone is playing the hero for the first time, and that wouldn't be a good learning experience.

Anyway, +1 to the OP suggestion.

Maybe using the "most successful heroes" factor. But, again, this is measured by how many times you've won with one of them. Yet a similar system might fix this to find replays that actually fit the teaching/learning role.
