  • sv_cheats while spectating

In source 1 you could use any console command while spectating someone's game, even set sv_cheats to 1
I was using that to record some movies with my friend in lobby (he was in lobby doing some actions, I was spectating and recording). We were OK.

But in source 2, sv_cheats cannot be changed even in spectaror mode.

    For example:
] sv_cheats 1 Can't change replicated ConVar sv_cheats from console of client, only server operator can change its value
] fog_enable 0 SV: Convar 'fog_enable' is cheat protected, change ignored.
] fog_override 1 SV: Convar 'fog_override' is cheat protected, change ignored.

These cant be changed even when hosting local lobby. Any help on this?

By spectating I mean watching someone's game with a delay. I see no point of not being able to set sv_cheats to 1. This spectating is the same thing as watching replay actually.

    Please, respond

Please notice this thread! I don't understard this thing. A lot of observers are using dota_camera_distance 1800 to show matches and it's looks fine on steams, but when you watch this match live in DotaTV with default settings you don't see a half of the picture because dota_camera_distance is cheats protected for live matches and work only for replays! I mean I can't follow observer because he uses different camera_distance!
