  • Suggestion 2 min delay

    Hey guys,

I just had an idea to make it easier to watch a game during you are in skype or teamspeak with the friends. My Suggestion: don't have the 2 minute delay if you watch the game by the friend list by "watch the game" But like this u can just see all of the view of your friends team. For all they want to see like all the time, they just have to join through "live games" and there still is a 2 minute delay.
Like this u got the possibility to talk with your friends and can easily analyse faulse to prevent them without having all the time: "what a nice arrow" "which one" "this one 2 mins ago"

And u remove him from friends when he has a game going,go watch a game, tell him where are his enemies and stuff.
And after that,u just send the request again.
    Nice try

no dude, everybody joining in a game not through the friend list will have the 2 minutes delay... and if you join through friend list, u just see what the team sees anyway.... so nothing to do with delete and readding...

Ye,i figured u suggested to completely remove the 2 mins delay.
u want to keep this system, and just add that one u suggested.
        My bad
I see nothing wrong with that idea,so i'll support it.
        +1

im pretty sure the coaching thing is on its way where you can watch your friends game on his point of view.not the whole map.. so there you go. be patience

oh okay I didn't know that it was already suggested... It's just at the moment annoying to watch a friends game if you are in the same conversation with them

Even if you can only see your friends own PERSONAL view, it would still provide an unfair advantage to have someone watching your game with 0 delay. Calling what he sees on the minimap, letting you know where the courier is, watching your cooldowns and gold count. Imagine something like a game of starcraft if a pro player had a friend standing behind him calling out every time he is about to get supply dropped, or every time his warpgates come off cooldown, or reminding him of his troop positions. Yeah its a more extreme example and nothing quite that significant exists in dota, but its a similar situation.

actually some teams have coaches who do exactly this at lan tournaments, stand behind them and watch all screens.

there is also nothing stopping someone from doing so in real life... the real advantage would be if the "coach" could move the screen around at all with their own camera, it needs to be locked to the player perspective of their friend, and they need to not have access to any of the analytics like gpm and gold graph.

This is legal in Dota tournaments? Wow... I knew competitive dota was a joke, but wow...

I suggest to increase delay up to 5-6 minutes, so noone can spoil observer wards.
