I see a lot of people talking random bullshit without any sense or valid argument...

Like many other cleverly said watching a game your friends are playing while you talk with them on teamspeak is pure bullshit as it is now (someone talked about future mentoring features and that one would be ok) because you listen to stuff happening and your watching all other stuff.

This is how it should be:

    1) random game spectating = same as now with a 6 min delay to minimize to 0 the possibility of any advantage.
    2) friends game spectating = no delay, cam fixed on friends vision (same vision as the player has), must be allowed by friend like on HoN. Multiple clients allowed.
    3) "eventual" friend game mentoring = same as above but with some mentoring features, like pings, minimap drawing etc visible only to the friend. Single client allowed.

Now for everyone that is crying against this features please explain why a Spectate option (option number 2) would give any advantage... And don't say because the spectator can watch other stuff on the minimap because that advantage is only for trash players... any decent player can look at his minimap himself.

p.s. all the multiple bullshit said about not thrusting your friend list etc. etc. is useless because it's obvious that to have a no-delay spectator watching you, you have to be able to accept or refuse that.

You asked us to explain how option 2 gives ANY advantage and then just listed the advantage right there. Maybe your friend happened to be unaware that they were going to get ganked and you just exclaim "oh hey. why are you still staying in that roshan pit when you saw them all coming from mid lane?" and he'll be like "oh shit didnt even see that! was just focusing on rosh cause he bashed me like 100% of the time! thanks dude!" and theresssss the advantage

and advantages for trash players are okay? assuming that match making put trash players up against trash players its okay for one of them to cheat because they're all trash TRUEEE!!?? sorry that youre just too pro and i have no understanding of whats going inside your brain because you definately would never ever get ganked and probably havent had a single death of a hero since you started playing dota because youre so aware of the map.

Also in fights spectators would be able to say use that spell on that guy or go back because you'll die blah blah which gives them advantage when you have average players vsing average players with a pro telling one what to do.

And no worries. Im glad i wasted your time.

For trash players it is intended players that don't even know what they are doing.. what's up you feel like I was talking about you?
I put myself in the MID- range of players so no, I'm not pro at all but a mate saying to me "Care they are gonna gank you in 1 second" it's not going help me soo much, is it? Anyway with your way of thinking neither mentoring would even be possible because one good player helping another would be cheating.

I don't think the advantage you're talking about is so important and neither game changing. If you mean that, then my brother should be forbidden to watch me play (sitting next to me), HE COULD ALLERT ME OF A GANK AND I COULD WIN THE GAME BECAUSE OF THAT. What about me sitting next to him helping him play better? It is considered cheating in your eyes.

I must mail valve about this issue it's really important....

Live spectation should be an option in custom lobbies. In essence, people would be able to join and leave the broadcaster slots at will (as in spectation working just like the current broadcaster slots do).

Again, as an option, like a friendly IH where some people might want to take a peek and chat about what's going on, just having a good time a good time with each other casually.

I would love this feature, since it is a feature I used extensively in HoN when waiting for my friends to finish their current game so that we can play together. Nothing is more frustrating than hearing your friends talk about plays on skype and you having to wait 2 minutes to share in the already forgotten joy of the moment.

But I can totally understand the need for privacy, which is why I suggest that this is something you would need to toggle on in the options panel (on by default). "Allow friends to spectate in real time". This would essentially give you a new button in the right click menu when clicking on a friend. In addition to "Watch Game" you now have "Spectate Player". This would lock your camera to that player, only seeing what he sees at any given time. This way you cant help him in any way by spotting for runes or the like.
