  • new audio channels

Currently watching the qualifiers live ingame with the (very cool) new audio channel feature. i did notice two problems here though:

1.) Audio quality is far inferior to the video streams via own3d/twitch. I don't really understand this, because audio takes up very little bandwidth.
2.) The audio lags pretty badly. This might be because there are over 3000 viewers in the game, but DOTA2 should better get used to numbers even bigger than that ;-)

ya .. i think everyone will have the same issues with the ingame audiostream ...
another thing i think is needed .. is an seperat option for the audiostream volume .. cause i have to set the ingame volume so loud .. that the normal sounds are killing the audiostream ... everything is too loud .. would be nice to have an option like that

      +1 to all above

+ get rid of the indicator of who is speaking, when you are in audio channel. You dont need to see popping it on/off when streamers speak, you know it's them. It's kind of distracting.

Agree to above, especially that you have to increase the normal sound volume is annoying.

        Another thing is:
Only LD seems to work for me, maybe the other casters dont use it...
I havent checked if LD is solocasting or not, but seems he is not solocasting, and in a dualcast you only hear one person? If thats the case it would be useful to combine 2 audiochannels of casters dualcasting

There was a very noticeable increase in latency when trying to listen to someone through the game. Tobi's in particular caused it to double.

The quality of the audio in the broadcast channels NEEDS to be better! Please work on this Valve! =D

Yeah it was almost like listening to a radio.

Also agree that the speech indicators are unnecessary for broadcasters.

Yes, improve the audio quality, at least for commentators. I think that is a really important point for viewing pleasure.
                specs for bugreports:
                i5-4200U
                AMD Radeon HD 8750M
