Can confirm it. Jumped into a game, did player perspective and had no effects/orb/projectiles too. Did the fix and it works normal. Must be an issue with the latest patch, hadn't it before.

I have same problem, since latest patch I am losing effects and projectiles when watching live games. Both Directed and Player Perspective camera angles.

Seeing that no one except us reported this already, I am now afraid it's on my end

Tested today and you can replicate this bug in replays, too.

I had this Bug too and the same "fix" helped for me too

  • Particles/Projectiles/Spells/Wisp disappearing in Caster perspective

Sometimes while using a Caster's perspective some effects completely disappear. It's the same effects every time and the effects seem to be related:
    - Particles effects like TA's refraction sphere and her psi blades
    - Spell effects
    - Projectiles
    - Wisp's whole "model"

This happened a few times without me doing anything out of the ordinary (just switching to Caster view at the start of the game) and two other people were complaining about it in the chat.

    To replicate:
    1) Watch a casted live game [e: or a casted replay]
    2) Go to hero chase mode
    3) Follow a hero until he's in the river (lowest part of the map)
    4) Switch to Caster's view
    5) Wait a moment

I managed to trigger the bug twice with that procedure. I think it has something to do with camera elevation.

When the bug happens, you can fix it by switching to Free Cam and then back to Caster view. The missing effects should immediately reappear. Not sure if the exact location of the camera matters for the fix.
