  • DotaTV advertizing

    Dear Valve,
As it was talked about it, dotatv replaces for some people the streams(they watch via dotatv). As an idea, whi couldnt tournament organizers advertize in dotatv? just like on streams the dead space(between the minimap and hero icon, etc.) I think tournament organizers should be able to advertize their sponsors.
This could lead to lower tournament ticket prices(more people would be into dotatv), tho I know tournament sponsors rate a tournament succesful if they were enough viewers. This means Valve should send the report of the viewership on dotatv to organizers, etc.
I'm throwing this out as an idea.
    Have a good day everyone!

Dota TV doesnt shows some players stream, Dota TV shows very high skill matches with players with high Win rate.
About the idea, no, I dont want advertising in the game, damn, i dont even want it on youtube, but its there, annoying me.

    Click it

+1 if its static ad placement (no sound, no animation etc.)

I was about to make a similar thread before I came across this.

We hosted a tournament recently and enabled in-game spectators with local shoutcasters broadcasting the games.

Here in India, broadband speeds aren't good enough for everybody to be able to view browser based streams hence in-game viewership seems like the way to go.

However, the lack of statistics such as peak viewers, total number of viewers, DotA TV Chat activity etc. makes it impossible for us to approach and effectively convince sponsors to support our future endeavours.

Is there a way to get these numbers from the games?

In cast mentions of the sponsor's brand + redirecting viewers to tournament brackets and other info where sponsor branding is displayed.
On the other side of things, it helps us to show sponsors the overall reach of the event.
