  • [Dota TV Suggestion] Being able to pay to hear teams voice communication.

Was wondering what people thought about this. Now I like casters as much as anyone. Every now and then though some teams will stream their scrims, or less serious tournament matches, and you get to hear the teams on Ventrilo\skype. And for me personally at least this is the most entertaining, but even more so, its a lot more educational.

So what if teams somehow had the option to 'sell' their voice chat. Either for specific tournaments, or i guess what would make more sense, a specific upgrade to the pennant. Obviously it would enforce a few restrictions. First of all, the teams would have to disclose what language they are speaking on the voice chat, and they would have to use the Dota in game voice communication. And they would probably also have to give up some privacy and keep it slightly PG-13 , as to not the put the team\sponsors in a bad light. This would obviously be only an option to teams, and not something they would have to be a part of, and most\all of the money should be going to the teams from sales.

So what do you think, I know personally if given this option and the upgrade to the pennant was reasonable (say 1~3$s) I would buy for a couple of the better and more active English speaking teams (EG, NTH, Team liquid, Dignitas). I guess a lot of the non english speaking teams speak russian (or chinese) which would have their own big target audiences.

Would specifically love to hear what pro gamers\people who actually are in a team think about the idea, if they would welcome the new revenue source, or if they would dislike the semi-forced upon invasion of privacy.

I like the idea, I don't think it even needs to be a paid feature though. I think every player should have an option for their in-game mic to be broadcasted to spectators. It would have to be on an individual basis though, not a team feature (as some teams like to vent when matches aren't going their way)

Most pros video stream publics only or mostly, fucking horrible boring crap shit content. They COULD stream their scrims and would have an bigger audience, but they dont, they avoid it, they miss an already available chance to make money with their voice communication. They dont want it, obv. It IS sad, but it is how it is.

      +111 nevertheless
