  • Rubick: Resonant Vibrance View Count

    Hello.

I've recently purchased the StarLadder Season 7 Ticket, along with the Rubick Resonant Vibrance Set. My question is simple: What counts as a viewed replay? Live games are totally fine; they are being counted without any problems. However, replays aren't clear to me. At first, I was just cycling through the recent games, and tried watching one, which I was interested in. I watched the whole draft, then a bit of the laning phase, after that, I started skipping a few minutes, then going back, etc. All in all, I watched the majority of the game, but not as a whole; I was just trying to find those precious moments. Now, when I checked on the Rubick set, it didn't count this as a viewed game.
After this, I tried using the View Highlights function, which I read somewhere around here, that should work just as well. At this point, I was only curious about the view count, and not the game itself(damn me). Surprisingly, this still did not work. View count doesn't increase by using this function(strange, if you ask me).
The last thing I did was: finding a game I was really interested in, then watching it from the very start, to the very end. I didn't even click Close on the score board, I just waited for the replay to end, and close itself. Now, this counted.

The question is clear: Do I actually have to watch every single game from the beginning till the very end, even if I'm not a tiny bit interested in it, like, at all? That sounds troubling.

Views have been bugged since Valve released the first tournament/view courier upgrade like last year... Not a single tournament since has worked flawless with it.
VALVE please make a punishment system that punishes the offenders... not the team. Also ever heard about communication? Try it. It might solve a lot of debates/questions here on the forum.

That actually does not surprise me. Is there anyone though, who knows more about this? Like, is there a way to actually not watch a game, which I don't even care about, and is longer than an hour, but still get the credit for it? Like, is there a minimal length you should see?

New information: I did the same thing as before with another game. Watched the whole thing from the beginning till the end, but this time, it did not count. I guess, it really is just a regular bug, and there's no explanation to what counts as a viewed replay.

          Easy way:

Download replay -> view -> skip til the end -> replay will close = counter + 1

Works fine for me if i will not watch the whole game.

Just tried with a replay, it did not increase the counter. This could be caused by Steam randomly going down as well, so I'm gonna try it later, when it comes back on, and is more stable.

              Good luck :-)
I will try it later ^^

I tried Trafgen's method again. It worked for 4 replays, then I tried rewatching one of the previous ones, which did not get counted back then, and it actually worked as well. However, there was one game, which did not work, yet I tried the same thing twice in a row. I gave a go for the game I watched as a whole earlier, as well, but no luck, unfortunately. I tried it twice, but it did not get counted.

I'm gonna go with the assumption that some replays are buggy for some random reason.

Edit: I'm tracking the ones which do not get counted, and there're 2 at the moment, which I already mentioned. I read another topic where someone mentioned the QOP wings acting similarly. He had 60 views, then a patch came and it went back to 59. It's gonna be a pain to find the one which somehow got rolled back.

So you make a full effect set that needs 80 and you make 40 games and how am I suppose to achieve that? Bug>Fair? And you nerf that? Then why are you bullshiting us? just tell us, We need money lets make a profitable scam

I understand you, but I don't really think there won't be 80 games in total(unless I'm missing something). However, saying that you would rather exploit a bug to gain your set still doesn't sit right with me. I came here to ask people, what actually counts as a viewed replay, nothing else. I'm starting to grasp the concept, but some of the replays are bugged. The moment I'm done with every single one, which might take a while, I'm gonna come back and post the ones which, for some odd reason, did not work.

I did not try to say that I want my precious set right here, right now, and I'd do anything for it, but I also don't see the reason why would they make these fishy changes which actually force people to "waste" a lot of time. The method I'm using is: starting a replay, waiting for the first 2 bans, then skipping till the end, before the score board comes up, and proceeding to watch the rest from there(if I'm not interested in the game). If I want to actually watch a full game, because it looks interesting, I'm gonna do it. I do know that people just cycled through all the replays back in the day, because they got counted the moment you clicked "Watch Replay". What was the problem with that? Live games still work that way, and no one is screaming about that. Like, seriously, I paid for the set, and even if they make me waste more time by achieving the best form of it, they won't gain more money(not trying to give ideas here).

As far as I know people who have more than the like 50 game views(cause like 50 have been played so far) are doing this with a bug: A bug I know is give the set to someone who has the ticket, he watches the replays and you get new games viewed. Worked for everything I know of so far so should work for this as well

Well, it seems like I'm through all of the games which happened up until now. I watched a huge portion live, but as far as replays go, I've found two bugged ones, at least for myself:
                        - cD vs 'PSN (18:08:26 Sat Aug 31 2013)
                        - KP vs Fnatic (19:45:54 Mon Sep 9 2013)

If you watched a game live, you can't watch it again to count towards the views. I bought the ticket first and then the set as i didn't have money for the set at first, i probably watched about 20games before getting the set. To my horror, those 20 games wouldn't count towards the views for the set. I have eventually managed to unlock the full effect, but it took way longer than it should've.
