  • Access to match ID: XXXXXXXXXX denied. I broadcast the match and I don't have access?

This is something I feel so stupid....Today some of my friends gathered together and we have an inhouse game.
I wanted to be a broadcaster so I broadcast four games. Then I realized I don't have those replays.
I asked my friend to download the replay for me so I can see how bad or good I broadcast.
Then this Warning shows up: Access to match ID: XXXXXXXXXX denied.
I mean really? Having my friends download matches that I broadcast is stupid enough, and I don't have the access to the match?
    wth?

Is there any fix? (Restarting Steam doesn't work)

So I casted my first tournament this past weekend and wanted to view all the matches I casted and see what I could have done better, but could not find the replay. So I got a match ID from a friend and got thsi error as well. This really needs to be fixed.

You can't download Replays if you not play the match in the private lobby, you need the .dem file in 'steam\SteamApps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\replays', put in your reaplays folder and in the console put 'playdemo replays/filename.dem'

Is there a way to download the replay outside dota 2? Since I can't even access the match to click on the download link.

in steam right click dota2 -->properties -->set launch options --> add " -console " hit accept start dota2 and you get the dev console
If you find spelling errors, you are free to take them.

Huh. It's kinda obvious that "filname.dem" is a placeholder for actual filename...

You sometimes can, even if in-game it tells you that it is unavailable. If you do not know the ID or the replay was never recorded then no.

Enable the console, and when you've loaded the details page for the replay you want, you'll see a line telling you the URL of the replay file

                            Replay is at http://[........].dem.bz2

Download this file via your browser or whatever application. It's an archive so you'll need to extract it with the likes of 7zip or WinRar. Extract the .dem file to your dota 2 beta/dota/replays folder, and now you can either reload the match details page to see the play button or find it in downloaded replays.

Note that this does not mean you can watch games without a ticket, it's just for standard replays.
