www.hltv.org <- CS 1.6 website. You can download demos as soon as the game is finished. Doesn't matter if it is LAN or online competition. This is how EVERY COMPETITIVE GAME should be like.
The reason why some games don't have all the replays is because it's not automatic, but players or someone who was spectator has to save that replay and upload it for other users. Since, DOTA2 has automated way of saving replays/demos, I don't see the reason why we aren't able to download those.
Oh that why there are no replays of scbw(the most evolved esport ever), cause they are just too fucking dumb to upload the replays. Thank you for your insight.

    +1

I like a possible solution like this.

    Really needed.

Edit: I do not see any reason why there should be a loss of profit for casters. I will always watch Casters and Streamers, no matter if replays are available or not. But there is so much more people can do with replays by themselves, and they still will keep watching live games...

Because that is the way how dota2 replays works?
It can contain the voices of the casters

That makes absolutely zero sense. The replay is a glorified text file. What does the caster have to do with the replay? In any game ever?

I'd love to be able to watch replays by myself...i don't get why noone releases them.
Perhaps...if you find a pro-gamer profile, you can see all his games that were played in the public matchmaking system, and that's all. Why don't allow us to see private games too? :/

    OH WAIT THERE IS NONE

Give me the replays of NGF for dota1

Oh wait they are not released yet.

    Please don't make shit up
In every competive games replays gets released after several weeks/months or never

Even in sc2 ipl waited like one month until they released the replays.

If they will release replays, they will release them months after the tournament finished.

It would be the worst thing if Valve allowed to make every tournament replay downloadable.
Your post makes no sense. In every competative game you can download replay of a pro game and watch it as soon as the game is finished.

stream and replays are 2 different things. people who wants to watch replays usually wants to look at some details, learn something - they will still watch streams for entertainment.
Everyone prefers streams with commentary over row replay (when it comes to having fun) - so dont worry, advertisements will continue to work as intended.

This is really something that in my eyes does hurt Dota 2's development.
Put aside the fact that new casters that want to start casting cant get a hold of ANY replays. Not even low level competitive play. I tried reaching teams of small tournaments with perhaps a lot of so called "Tier2 - Tier3" teams and unless somebody is nice to upload a replay file you have NO chance of casting anything.
In addition to that Dota1 was so brilliant because you were able to take a peek into replays just like that, for a few minutes, parse them, follow a certain hero if you wanted to learn how to play him in certain situations, etc, etc.

This is really needed, and I do not understand why there isn't at least something like a "shared-replay pool" or something.... :/

    Any thoughts?

Edit: Thinking about it, why not have an auto-save of replays that are started in tournament version or something. I mean there has to be some sort of filter so not all games that are used for scrim purposes are saved, but it would be fancy
The problem is in broadcasters. For some reason they don't upload replays... Not only broadcasters, but anyone who was in the lobby could upload replay (similar to wc3), but they don't for some reason. I hope that Valve can do something about this, so that those replays are public (maybe some option which would be chosen while creating lobby, which would allow that replay to be download via matchID).

Imho, replay system in wc3 is one of the worst among all games, not to mention spectating system which is almost non-existent.

They could just release the replays a day later or whatever they want to do, if the problem is people not watching the stream.

You can show advertisements on a stream
