  • Replay Parsing: Combat Log Info "bug" + enhancement

I found a "bug" in combat log entries while working on my replay parser.
This "bug" is regarding Morphling Replicates.

For example, in this game: 17265340
On tick 28474, replay time: 15:49, game time: 11:52, we got this combat log entry:

    CombatLogInfo: tick(28474)
      type: 4
      sourcename: npc_dota_hero_axe
      targetname: npc_dota_creep_badguys_melee
      targetsourcename: dota_unknown
      attackername: npc_dota_hero_axe
      inflictorname: dota_unknown
      attackerillusion: true
      targetillusion: false
      value: 0
      health: 0
      timestamp: 963,8529
In fact, this creep kill is made by an Axe Replicated by Morphling, targetsourcename should be npc_dota_hero_morphling.

Results of this "error" is that Axe get more last hits than normal and Morphling less than normal.
It's exactly the same regarding deny/towers/assists etc... Please PM me if you need more MatchID.

Another cool thing would be an enhancement.
Actually, there is no way to know which tower was killed by Radiant/Dire (DOTA_Chat_TowerKilledGood/DOTA_Chat_TowerKilledBad).
Could you please add a combat log entry with the right target_name so that we can track those towers kill in a much better way than DOTA_CHAT_MESSAGE.CHAT_MESSAGE_TOWER_KILL ?

Thanks in advance for any response from the dev team.

I think I found another strange thing. I did not match the replay yet to analyze the issue.

    Look at this game: 17265342

I found a difference of 2 last hits between game and my parser.

I think the issue is regarding Spectre Ultimate Illusions, they probably got 2 last hits either by damage or item_radiance.

Either the Combat Log entries don't exists OR information of those Combat Log Entries are wrong.

I'll take a look, thanks for the info.

Thanks Chris. I think you should also have a look at this one too =>

I detected him while recreating Kill Cams with my parser, I'm not sure if it's a bug or not because it really depends on the behavior of Ice Blast.

If Ice Blast can't be counted as a creep damage then it's a combat log bug.
