    Highlights need some work...

    The game shows the first 2 kills. Then it shows Luna teleport from fountain to a tower with the score at 2-1. Then it shows the ancient getting killed with a score of 50-25 and NOTHING else.


    I was Bane in this game, and it was one of the most intense games of Dota 2 I've ever played. I was hoping to get my friends to watch the highlights of it but they showed nothing in the game, what gives? The 'Watch Highlights' option definitely needs to be revamped, because it is such an awesome feature and I hope it's done right.

    Similar post to mine.
    It is a great feature but there are some things to iron out.

    There are games where it just shows heroes moving around for 5 seconds then comes a new transition (which is what I meant by it not showing anything). I think it is dependent on the "Directed" camera event detection.

      I want an option for the highlights to show anything involving first blood, all kills, roshan, and towers. Some things may be uneventful, but at least I'll get all the relevant details.

      I was definitely impressed by the highlights function when it showed this big juke by Gondar. But I was equally let down by (as this topic addresses) how highlights miss so much.

        I understand what you mean, it's frustrating. But from a programming perspective making a flawless, and actually working highlights function would be complex to say the least. I'm sure the DOTA2 Valve team has more important things at the top of their to-do list. Yeah though it'd be nice to have a working Highlights function.

          Hi guys, i totally agree that the highlights-feature is a really really really great one, but it does not work propperly yet.

          My last game (have to search for the id this afternoon) i had a really intense game, 65min, stats were like 55-75 at the end. the highlights showed first blood, a random tower kill, a random push fight and the throne going down.

          I severely suggest to show at least all situations where e.g. 6 kills happen withing 30seconds (teamfights), all events where a rax/tier 3 tower gets destroyed (like 30sec-1min) and to show rosh kills.
          And to put the hightlights length variable dependent of a variation of #kills and length of the game.

          It would be really a very very nice thing to have a good automated highlight-section!
