you must extract the file first, then rename (delete the second number) to be able to watch the replay
BAD person is someone who only think that he/she is a pro and others are noob and then blame the Matchmaking challenge.
GOOD person is someone who accept the Matchmaking challenge and succeeded getting a teamwork in his/her team

I'm having the same problem! I tried to download tournament replays, MM replays and even pratice replay and they are all not working.

      Please fix this bug Valve!

Its been broken for well over 6 months now. They apparently don't care.

In the end they refunded my tournament tickets instead of just fixing the bug.

Not necessarily true. If a function returns true, it's numeric equivalent is 1, not 0. NO_ERROR and ERROR_SUCCESS are both "windows standards", not valves.

This is already addressed in the thread.
Meanwhile you can see that the download requests fail with 206, and then eventually 0 when the system stops even bothering communicating correctly (the dota 2 code is making requests of steam.exe and not even waiting for the result)

Meanwhile, no, return codes and error codes are not the same. When you have an error code that means you have some number space into which you map errors. Typically that means you have some means to "get error". In any event if you have a way to ask what the error is in a numeric space, how are you going to map the "no error" state? Everyone uses 0 for this because it's the only thing that makes sense.
This is true for POSIX, for Windows, and any system that has error codes in a numeric space where it's implemented by people who aren't dumb.

also getting this error. my router blocks server connections that establish too many parallel download streams, maybe it is related to that? Or is it just my slow internet?

                    steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\replays
and remove the second number so the file format is MATCHID.dem and you're set. Should be ok as a workaround until valve cleans up the rest of their replay system, and no more insane methods for getting the links, yay

edit: Although once you've got the link you'll want to close Dota2, otherwise itll keep trying to download the replay to infinity, thus hogging the connection. And the replay has to start failing before you can get the link... ok maybe it won't be that easy...

Valve, simple ask will only take like 5 minutes, could you please have the console spew a replay link when you hit the details page, when it does the HTTP HEAD request? k thanks!!!
Thanks for providing this workaraound sir, +1.

BTW this is what my console shows when I try to donwload a replay:

It depends, the quality of the connection to Valve's replay servers can be affected by anything along the line, and if you're downloading the replay outside of the client fine then it's really up to Valve to have a download system that takes into account how reliable/fast a user's connection is. (and not having parallel connections enabled for all users *HINT*)

+1. I have payed good money to buy tournament tickets so that i can watch the games at a later stage in the game client. But now i cant watch ANY replays. just get the download error 0 EVERY time. Id appreciate it if one of the moderators could reply to this thread with some information from valve, as this is obviously not an isolated problem.

Same thing here, bought a tournament ticket and If I miss the live match theres no way to watch them later.
Right now buying tournaments tickets its a waste of money, imo

Just because someone actually knows what they're talking about and you don't, doesn't make them a troll. I know, wishful thinking and all that, but nope.

This is just a valve bug. You can see in the log above from BetoCeni that they simply stop bothering to gather the 206 partial success, because they time out the parallel connections before there's a result code.

This is just a case where valve's network code assumes every network link will go at some particular speed or faster, whether or not it's true, followed by a very poor quality reporting of the problem.

It's a super easy problem for them to fix, they just have to want to do it.
