    hey folks,

I don't want to start any flamewar around here, I'm just a bit mad coz of this russians, they're not speaking english and they're very unmannered, so I think that many people would really appreciate to make a sub-section to the matchmaking

    thanks a lot!

Russians are Europe's Brazillians. Call me racist but out of 5+ years of Dota/HoN play Russians have consistently proven to be ill-tempered crybabies.

A creative way to keep all sides happy would be to place players with a latency over 500ms to a specific server farm into the low priority pool. So for example, if someone from Russia has USEast selected, they would be placed at low priority for games created on USEast. This would also work vice versa if someone from USEast is connecting to Southeast Asia. These players shouldn't be selecting those servers anyway due to the latency of transpacific networking.

This would also help prevent players with a poor internet connection from ruining everyone else's game.

It's stereotyping, not racism. My idea however wouldn't discriminate against anyone except those damn dirty laggers.

Also, it's not like gaming companies (including Valve) aren't stereotyping Russian gamers. Games are much cheaper in Russia and other former soviet states because players from these areas on average are much more likely to pirate them.

I'm not sure where you're getting those numbers but I'll go ahead and say they are probably heavily padded by Russian websites selling cheap Steam activate-able CD Keys and providing free Russian VPN's for activation.

In any case, I'm not here to debate how "awesome" mother Russia is, I'm just commenting on a thread about how I would prefer Russian players to not be able to play on the US servers for many, many reasons. Part of it is the average behavior of the players, part of it is the obvious latency issues from transpacific networking.

Over 5 years of playing Dota and HoN, this video is pretty accurate for what it is like playing with your average Russian player: http://youtu.be/hPaX4J8tRq0

I suggest splitting Europe into West and East, I don't want to be racist or sth, I just don't want to play any more ruined games or us servers only

A function like the banlist for dota, that showed where ppl were from would be really awsome. So you could filter who/where ppl would be from that you played with.
