  • Hex color codes in autoexec.cfg

Sometimes I like to color a few words now and again, for example having a blue "gg" or red "Please buy a courier". I can bind this to my keypad while ingame by using
    Code:
    bind KP_1 "say [hexcode]gg"
However when adding this in the autoexec.cfg, the command does not get run. In the console it says "Unknown command "GG"".
It seems the hex code isnt getting run by the autoexec. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm getting the same problem, if I type it in console it works fine but won't recognise it in autoexec, any fix?

There is no fix to it. The only way to do it is to copy and paste it into the console. Or just leave the symbol in your clipboard and paste it whenever you need.

In future they might disable the copy and paste trick.

Have you tried putting your binds in another config file and execute it via console with "exec [config].cfg" ?

I don't know if this will work, but if it does, it can reduce the amount of typing

        Can't try it atm

It doesn't work because the .cfg files are using ANSII while the special symbols are in unicode.

Try changing the encoding of the file. It works with every editor, even notpad.exe

the .cfg file cannot be encoded in UTF, Unicode, etc. The dota 2 client doesn't accept that.
