  • Changing the friends list

I think the friends list should only show friends that have Dota 2. It doesn't make sense to show everyone on your friends list, as anyone can just shift-tab and look at their friends list from there.
(Sorry if this has been suggested before, I searched and found nothing)

And i think a small note is necessary for each friend (like in StarCraft 2). My friends like to change their nicknames too frequently and i tired to determine who is who xD

Personally, I think there should be a seperate friends list just for dota 2. I only installed steam for Dota, so I can't send requests. My Dota buddies (to whom I gave keys) are the same. I realize I can buy a small game, and I will, but if Dota 2 is going to be free to play, steam friends and dota2 friends should be seperated: there is a playerbase for dota that's different than the playerbase of steam. If it remains as it is, it's going to be F2P with the exception of having to pay a small amount to be able to send friend requests, which doesn't really make sense.

since dota2 will be free everyone of your friends will be able to play and therefore you can invite everyone to play some dota with you. most obvious reason in my opinion

Sorry for the very huge bump.

Well I guess this makes sense, but I think it should only show people that have Dota 2 installed or w/e, instead of just showing everybody on your friends list. I doubt everybody I have as friends on Steam will try Dota 2.
