  • Invisible mode option, please? Poll inside.

I think it would be nice if we could log in as invisible, I realize this would be quite hard since it shows you on dota 2 on your friends list, but maybe we could launch it as a client that sets us as invisible. Sometimes I just want to play by myself, and I don't want my friends to think I'm mad or ignoring them, I just want to play alone sometimes. Here's a poll to see if anyone supports it, maybe if it has an overwhelming positive response, it will be enabled.

I like this idea, it is an enabling option.

Are you talking about being invisible in Steam and DOTA2? If so, that's more of a Steam suggestion than a DOTA2 one. It also sounds like you want the option to launch DOTA2 without being on Steam? Either way, I don't think you will get "overwhelming positive response". Your poll is flawed in any case, as not many will probably say no as it doesn't hurt them to have it as an option. However, if you ask them if you would want an invisible mode knowing it would delay the release of the game by two weeks then you would see whether people really want it or not.

Currently, when you are invisible on your friends list and start dota 2, your friends will see it. Check your friendslist, you may see users seemingly offline, but with the addition of (playing hero x at level y).
It's a valid concern. Sometimes you just want to play 1 dota without alarming your friendslist. This is possible in all games so far as far as I know, except Dota 2.

What you are describing sounds more like a bug than a suggestion? Or something that would be planned anyway if you are saying you can do it in all other games.

In other games you can use steam settings in the friends menu to appear offline. In Dota 2 the game shows you online even though your steam setting is offline.

              bumpy bump!!

When you appear offline in steam and start dota2, other people in your friend list who are also in dota 2 can see your "dota 2 status" (main menu, finding match etc). The dota2 status needs to be removed if someone is appearing offline. That's all.

BUMP - can we get this - it wouldnt be same as offline mode

Sometimes when you need to relax and play solo offline mode is not enough, people can still see you in channels (guild, team, chat) and then become pretty obvious that your offline mode.

We really need invisible log mode for Dota 2 or for whole steam.

I don't understand why this doesn't exist. People who don't like it don't have to use it. I like to solo queue sometimes and I'd rather not have 20 people like "why don't you want to play with me!?"

                            Please add this Valve.
