  • New adjustments for weaker pc's

    Well

The new dashboard looks kinda cool but there is one thing. My pc is not the strongest but i can play the game smoothly on low settings but now the dashboard is killing my pc and i have something around 10 fps. So i would like to see two version of it. One would be with all those sparkles and shiny background just like now and the other one would be the simplified version. Its just a pain in the ass do switch into the lobby

What FPS do you get if you add "+dota_embers 0" to your command line?

It happens to me too, and I have a ge force 9500 1 GB.
my fps goes like 15fps while in dashboard even with the dota_embers 0.

          Kinda interesting.
If i try the commend from you Jonathan the sparkles are removed and my FPS are being stable while im on the "Learn" and "Today" page but if i click on "Watch" or "Play" my complete pc is dropping down and is lagging.

I get 30 fps on the dashboard. Way to fuck up.

                i7 950 @ 3.9ghz
                12 gigs of ram
                HD5970 (CF)

If I go to steam overlay to talk to a friend, when I shift back in shit drops to 5-10 fps.

You can avoid the FPS dropps by using this command "+dota_embers 0" and if you want to play/minimize dota2 click on the tab "today" or "learn"
this will prevend you from lagging around if you are not actually playing the game

Why did everyone ignore a direct advice from one of the people that is developing Dota 2? He said to try improving the FPS by entering the "+dota_embers 0" command. Pretty sure he would appreciate it if you gave feedback on that.

Having a HUGE FPS drop here too. My PC feels like a god before the new patch with all settings to max and all.

But now it feels like my PC can't even handle a simple UI change since it lags so much in the lobby that I could barely move my mouse.

EDIT: I tried using "+dota_embers 0" and it certainly didn't help at all. It managed to increase FPS on some parts but most of the time, just plain lag.

Annoying, honestly. Low-end PCs will now have a hard time since the game hogs a lot.

Wow O-o, the new dashboard dont give me problems at all D:
It is all good but I agree that the new dashboard can be a little strong for weaker pc"s
But i think that new dashboard it is still in beta so they can change a little things
But that new dashboard looks AWESOME
