First, I must admit, I'm not fond of the "dashboard" at all, so you might want to take anything I say with a grain of salt.

The new dashboard seems a little too "windows-y", based on the design of the different windows and there placing. Ive played other games that too this route (eve online for instance) and haven't been too pleased by them.

In my opinion the best game UI is the simplest one, the Half-Life 2/Source generic screen serves this purpose well, as do games based off it who modify it for their own use (TF2, Portal 2, CS:GO). The current dashboard is a bit more complex than this, perhaps a bit too complex, but the new one seems like Valve wanted to show off Scaleform rather than come up with a decent UI.

Yes, that's pretty much all I like about the new dashboard.

i mean why in the world would anyone have the chat box where it is? how does this make any sense at all?

its pretty bad when people who have little to no resources are producing better dashboards then this
Holy crap, this is a BETA and it's supposed to be a TESTING ENVIRONMENT. If something didn't work as well as they wished, they can just change it.

Maybe you should lower your head a bit and learn that giving feedback IS NOT insulting people's work. They did something and said "hey, is this better y/n?" and the main answer was 'n', so they will probably change it and make it better. Also, the chatbox makes perfect sense to be where it is, giving more focus to the Blog table. That said, I'd rather have a smaller Blog table in order to include other stuff(like "matches right now").

Old one is definatly better. Some of the new stuff is neat, but after the initial "wow" you end up seeing so much wasted space and fluff that is pretty pointless. I DO find it pretty cool that the spectated match is going on in the background though (The pink background is replaced with the spectated match)

Tabbing quickly between the two, the old one feels 'solid', like it has substance and you are truly engaged in a game world. That, plus it presents more information in a more effective manner. The new one, I just can't help but feel that it's a website and not a game lobby. Everything just feels better about the old design.

I would change the hovering sound of the top buttons (don't ask me why but I find it annoying) and the background hue (damn, that purple-ish-pink color is punching my cornea so hard)
The overall is not that bad, maybe it just needs a rework on a couple of features.

I hate the new board. Looks too childish. The old one is 100 times better.

The visible splashart is in the blog window. Top 3 heroes being in every window isn't necessary imo and win/loss/abandon is in your dota profile. I would like for them to have a main page default(and not blog) that includes the top matches, number online and such.

started a topic Differences between the 2 dashboards

    Differences between the 2 dashboards

    Current Dashboard:
    Current Dota 2 Dashboard.jpg

    Dota 2 Test Dashboard:
    Dota 2 Test Dashboard.jpg

Similarities, Tabs at top are in same order.
Chat and Friends lists are visible
    Profile is also visible
    Easy access to patch notes.

    Current Only content:
    Top watched matches,
Top 3 most played heroes (for self Easily visible)
Clear Visible splash art for new hero (as in you don't have to click the blog site to enlarge the picture of the Splash art to really see the details)
    Current number of players online
    Win:Loss:Abandon Ratio (easily visible)

    Test Build only:
    Blog Window

    Analysis:
The current dashboard has more content and uses more screenspace than the new dashboard. Many people are experiencing FPS drops with the pink background and dislike the fact that the text of the areas is too small. The current dashboard does EVERYTHING the new dashboard does AND MORE and utilizes space efficiently. The change to the dashboard is unnecessary and inpractical.
