  • New Dashboard - Can't quit Dota 2 if it fails to connect

So, with the old dashboard it closed its "doors" while it was connecting to the Dota 2 network. There were a couple of times where, due to whatever reason, my client would fail to connect to the Dota 2 network indefinitely and a simple restart of the client would solve the problem. In this case I could just click the little power symbol top right and quit like any other time I closed Dota 2.

Apparently, part of the new client design is that this is no longer an option. Instead, I get stuck at this screen and can't do anything. Alt-F4 was ineffective, but closing the window through the taskbar icon worked.

It's not a huge issue as the workaround is pretty simple, but I find it hard to accept such a change as an improvement on the UI.

Its not a big deal to close the client from the taskbar but a 'quit game' button would be nice.

Except it has been stuck trying to connect for the last half an hour, with several game closes in an attempt to get it to work.
On further investigation on the forums, it said that you have to exit out of steam and restart it to fix. Tried it and it does work.

Stuck on the same problem atm. The old exit button was nice considering it was bloody there when I needed it. Shutting down Steam or the process every time this happens isn't exactly what I'd call optimal.

I had to restart steam to reconnect to Dota 2 as well.
