A newspaper has a much better layout even if they use vertical parts. And a newpaper doens't have moving/changing parts.
Nor do you need to use multiple parts at a time. Parts you don't like you ignore and it doesn't comprise the parts do you want.

VALVE please make a punishment system that punishes the offenders... not the team. Also ever heard about communication? Try it. It might solve a lot of debates/questions here on the forum.

If I wanted to look at the blog, I would open my browser and look at it. I don't want it taking up half my screen. Tue background looks disgusting, especially with the weird dark red to hot pink gradient. The "finding match" icon is like green. Lime green + hot pink = NO

You can barely see those dots that show up when someone accepts. Chat box is too small. The sounds that play when you click on a tab last too long. The sparks in the background cause lag on lower end pcs. Lots of wasted space in the background, why couldn't they use that space to make the chat bigger? The community feels like a "extra add on" or something because it's shoved into the right, into a tiny chat box. The previous UI made the community more present by filling up a third of your screen with it. W/L/A aren't on the front page anymore. The UI looks too futuristic and not fantasy enough. I'm not playing mass effect, I'm playing dota. I liked the old stone sounds, they sounded epic and rugged and tough.

Vertical layout is weird. Check the link I posted for a visual depiction of what I'm talking about.

EDIT: Hero picker is awful too, I need to constantly switch between grid and wheel to see what my team are picking, it takes forever to scroll through cards and it's too cluttered. Too much info, I preferred the more simplistic approach of the old UI. IMO they should have built upon the old picker instead of making a new one.

If I place a brick wall in the middle of your living room do you need to give that some time aswell?

There are just some changes that are bad not matter how long you see it. You don't put a chat on the rop right side and make it so small. A huge blog which no one reads no matter how big it is and top live gone.
Hence we give our feedback here.

Thanks for finally tinting the accept button red instead of the abort button on mm games :-)

Yeah, lets not listen to those silly "haters", they're just hating because they hate everything because they're the hatin' haters. Did I mention they're haters? Clearly it's not because the new UI is bollocks and this is the dev forums designed specifically for FEEDBACK and possible COMPLAINTS. No sir, this is where you appreciate Valve and eveything they do regardless of what it may be. Now lets all cuddle together and purr about how wonderful this new pink, wasteful and unprofessional dashboard is because Valve is just so beautiful and makes us wet.

The Acorn helmet is actually VERY fitting since it's natural shape is used. Also it is used for it's quality to withstand blows.
                    Wow, amazing insight.

                      Pretty much this.

To me the old menu (and hero picking) UI was superior to the new in every aspect.
