    I think it would be a really cool feature to be able to search for a player and essentially subscribe to what they do. It would allow you to see when they're playing/watching a game (similar to how it does with people on your friends list). It could be shown along side the friends list and would only show when they're playing DotA and not when they're playing another game or something.

    Also, perhaps it would be a good idea to add a feature that allows for people to put a custom name for different players. It would probably help casters determine who is who because pro players tend to change their names a lot. Of course this would be a local setting only and other people wouldn't be able to see the names.

    yeah, i would like to "follow" some competitive players without bothering them with friend requests, just watch some of the games they play...

      +1, it would be good if they appear in "Friends" Tab but separated undertagged Subscribed or something, and just be like a friend: show when playing, spectating, level and so on
