[Suggestion] Wc3 Dota images as loading screen

Certainly yes to some loading screen image, but a big no to any animation in a loading screen.

There would be stuttering and unenjoyable lags because everything is being loaded.

It should be new images (videos), not old wc3 dota images.

Portal 2 had semi-animated loading screens. Was really just a slideshow.

I enjoy the old images but obviously they need to be updated. It certainly would be nice to look at and even with updated art it would be nostalgic of the old days.

I happened to see icefrog put a new loading screen in the more recent versions of dota1 and that brought me straight here. It was certainly alarming, as I had no idea when he even decided to put a new one since I now play dota2 exclusively. Which made me realize, I really liked the loading screens from dota1! There were always 1 or 2 things you could focus on and admire in those murals every time it loaded.

Like which heroes are portrayed, who's fighting who, hidden heroes, artist's rendition of the hero; it's quite nostalgic, I can still see them in my head and the things I thought about as I pored over the works of artists like artgerm and kunkka game after game.

So it kind of makes me sad to know that I, as well as thousands of others, are now missing out on this experience after having faithfully and fully switched to Dota2; replaced, no-less, by nothing more than soul-less blue flames (ether?) to stare at as every game loads.

You'll have to wait for artists to start doing DotA 2 inspired art work, and then we may see it change. It would be nice if they had like a yearly or quarterly community event where people submit their DotA 2 inspired art work for a community vote and the winner gets some Customization Items and their picture as the loading screen.

I vote for tips (and pics too but most importantly tips). Ranging from "Buy wards" to "In the night, you have increased vision when playing as Drow Ranger" (right?) to "blabalbla is calculated this way:".




They should also be accessible outside of loading screen. For example: when you go to the learn tab you can select "loading screen tips". There it would show:

Recent: Ones you just viewed in your most recent 3-5 loadings. For example if you couldn't catch a very long sentence while loading, you can come and view it here.
New: New tips (players should be able to submit their tips).
All: .. obviously all tips.

the splash screens from the updates are really beautiful pieces of art.
those could be implemented as loadscreens, as long as we have one for each hero!

maybe the guy who does those could design a few nice artworks for the loadscreen too
