  • How does these performances make sense?

    performance.jpg

So, as you might imagine watching my slightly Photoshopped (moved and cropped, nothing else) performance bars, Witch Doctor is one of my favorite heroes. Anti Mage, not so much.

Now, before you say anything. I know why my Anti Mage sucks. I don't farm. I find it boring. I play support, initiators, gankers... any hero that can run around and just play the game without having to fall back on farming. I got him 10 times in random and we lost, because of me.

Sure, it clearly states that win loss don't impact performance, but I know for a fact I 100% lost those 10 games for my team. How can those two heroes both be rated around 3 for me? I just don't see how the game calculates it... even if it is a useless stat. Maybe I steal too much kills with him, but it's hard not to when you get kills from curse and ult left and right.

Are all Anti Mage players around my skill level absolute trash and all Witch Doctor's really sexy.. err I mean, good players?

I would like to see Valve reveal the correlation between performance bars and win ratio for heroes. If there is not a strong correlation or if the standard deviation is large, then the formula should be re-evaluated.

Well, the performance page does say that there is no direct correlation between performance and win/loss ratio. However, if you perform well, your team is more likely to win.

My example seems to fall way off the grid. I know I play a good Witch Doctor and i know I suck balls at Anti-Mage.

Performance may be a useless stat, but if they intent to keep it, its mechanics really needs to be reworked in some way.

the performance calculation is horrible. i have heroes on top of the list, with who i usually suck, because i 1) die too often 2) dont farm 3) dont kill heroes 4) lose the game for my team 5) miss my skillshots etc. and i have heroes on the very bottom of the list wich who i am godlike in 90% of the cases, always carry my team, have an average 400 gpm, hit most of my skillshots etc.
this is no exaggeration (even if it sounds like it)
        this is the truth
so... i really wonder what they use to calculate the performance. i guess it must be something really weird, if it is sometimes exactly the opposite, as it should be...

EDIT: plz dont tell me that the mmr is dependant on the performance rating, pleaseeeee

It's not, it's a completely different system based on what kind of games you lose (against harder opponents it moves you further up, losing against weak ones puts you further behind).

wow u have 0 wins for AM. lame. But i dont think the performance bars are based on win/loss of that hero. i think its got more to do with ur ingame performance. but thats just what my justification for this non sense is lol.

FIX MMR POINTS TO BE AWARDED FOR INDIVUDUAL PERFORMANCE RATHER THAN WHOLE TEAM SHARING THE FATE FOR THE FEEDER AND VICE VERSA. SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE +VE MMR POINTS EVEN AFTER A LOSS IF YOU DID REALLY WELL.
ADD THE SURRENDER BUTTON SO THE CRUSHED TEAM DOES NOT WASTE >10 MINS AFK AT FOUNTAIN
ADD SIZE CUSTOMIZATION FOR THE HUD.

if u lose a game and played well u get much more points than for winning and doing poorly/winning and doing ok/good
