  • A Modest Proposal: Regarding Hero Performance Ratings

Feed your creeps to the Fed.

Puns aside, I think that the murky hero ratings are more infuriating than they are encouraging. While I understand the point of view that public MMRs and other rating factors cause a lot of trashtalk, you must admit that there are millions of people playing LoL, and it doesn't seem to push them away.

My proposal reads thus: At least tell me how I am rated...even if you don't show it to everyone else, the only explanation I have is "THIS IS NOT BASED ON WINS AND LOSSES" while the 'most successful heroes' feature seems to be.

By "how" I mean an explanation, the mathematical formula, or whatever seemingly arbitrary criteria this game is using, because I don't know what I am supposed to improve if you won't even give me a hint (or keep pretending that the suggested item build for VS is semi-carry). A little love? A little transparency, PLEASE? I see normality curves, and they make no sense. I love statistics, and one thing I love about it as pointing out when a citation is lacking.

[Citation Needed] for the 'statistics' you present.

I love this game. Please give some more Math, and something to work for. 1.9 Legs is funny. Some of us want to improve.

Most successfull heroes are the heroes with the most wins.
Even if you lost 50 times and won 10 times and you have no other hero with 10 wins it will be your most successfull one.
So even this is crap. Change it to difference between wins and loses.

For the performance bar I think it has something to do with kills, deaths and assists.

Last I checked, my most successful heroes were 3 that I played like twice and did terribly.I quit checking after that. System not reliable.

Sometimes in groups of 5 my friends and I run a gimmick where each person picks the hero with the highest rating in their profile, and we invariably lose in dramatic fashion.
