  • Could we have a bit of stats privacy please?

I do not understand why all my games have to be recorded for other people to see. Some people actually play the game to have fun,and not for an e-peen competition

Yes,abandons are reasonable,a guy with 100 abandons is not someone to invite, but the win/loss ratio, what characters i chose and how much i kill or die with each one.All these are unecessary and just take the fun out of the game.People might lose because of their fault, and go to your profile and see you have many losses and blame you, make fun of you or not invite you just because you don't have good w/l stats(which don't actually show your abilities, since most of the time you don't lose just by your fault). This problem is amplified with the type of community we all know that MOBAs have, with exceptions of course

So,i humbly ask,for a very tiny button, that will stop the stat stalking and advertise my game performance to other players.Just that, nothing more. You can keep tracking for matchmaking purposes, just please don't show it.It's not a competition

Also inb4 you suck.I do suck indeed, but even if i didn't i would ask the same

Well it also makes me focus on stats too much, and makes me angry if i lose because here's another loss in my record for everyone to see.I believe much of the community's aggressiveness when losing is caused by this

that's kind of your own problem :/
Even if there was no stats you still may be angry if you lose multiple games in a row or even just one game etc.

If it makes you feel better they can't get that info though dota. They must go to Dotabuff, or some other stats site, to see losses. Currently only wins can be seen in dota.

rightclick name >> view dota profile >> win count by name.

EDIT: you can't even see total number of games, that count is only for yourself. try looking at another person's profile.

And here I was thinking I wish we had more stats to look at. I don't care if stats are private, but I like to look back and see if I'm improving in certain areas. If some kid wants to start raging cause my stats are bad, so be it. they'll find something to cry about regardless.

Nowadays a lot of online games have online statistic on each player (CoD, BF3, HoN, LoL, SC2 etc). Why do you even bother? Besides, a lot of people like it.

In the end if someone wants to be a dick they'll find a way. Thankfully hidden ratings help against that, but you can't really get rid of it. Report for harassment and move on.

                  +1

Dota2 needs privacy settings for the game history.

if they make stats private, people will bully you because you're not showing them and/or they will call you baddie for not wanting to show your stats.

The problem does not lie in the publicity of the statistics and how easily accessible they are, but in douchebags

stop caring about stats, those guys at http://www.reddit.com/r/compdota2/ think way too high of themselves, and just because they don't invite you because you're not in the high/very high mm bracket with 95% win/loss ratio doesn't mean you can enjoy the game, head over to http://www.reddit.com/r/dota2pubs and you'll easily find people playing to enjoy the game rather than to grind stats.

You can only see wins inside dota 2, so I don't see what you are posting this here for as it's other sites that shows losses.. Dota 2 already has what you asked for, only showing wins.
