  • The Hero HUD Design needs improvement

Refer to the screenshot pictures attached.

    1. When spectating, the replay rewind bar overlaps the damage/armour/move speed stats display panel which makes it impossible to hover the cursor over the stats to check detatiled information.

    2. The courier/gold/quickbuy HUD on the bottom right corner is too small and compact, and besides it does not change accordingly with customized HUDs which makes it look different and ugly.

    3. The minimap HUD (extra large option enabled) is twice the height of the Hero HUD in the bottom middle of the screen which makes it aesthetically poor quality of design. Would it be better if the Hero HUD in the bottom middle can be enlarged as well?

    4. The vertical gap to the right of the talent tree HUD looks weird and unnecessary.

    5. The HP/Mana bars are too short in length and positioned too low. It should have been a main component of the Hero HUD (just like the old HUD design which makes more sense both aesthetically and gameplay-wise). It might even be better just to remove the two bars (since we got the hero overhead HP/Mana bars) rather than place them in that awkward position.

    6. Last but not least, would it be aesthetically wiser to use the old square shape buff/debuff icons rather than the round ones? Since the whole Hero HUD is still consisted of multiple square shape sections (e.g skills items icons, stats section etc), having those buff/debuff circles not closely positioned between each other and placing them half a centimeter over the main Hero HUD does not look well coordinated.

An attractive and well-organized HUD design is crucial for a game like DOTA2, especially for the new-to-dota beginners. Hope my points and suggestions make sense and can be considered.

Hud should be bigger, it's not a role single player game, we need no minimalizm, we need to get info from the hud as fast as possible. If you want to keep this hud, at least make a hud size adjustment in options, or even an alterantive hud to choose. Also, HP/MP bars should be closer to the center of the screen, it needs to be checked regularly and it's too far away from center
