I think it would be great if you could signal to your team that you were ready to cast a particular spell, in addition to the hero you're ready to cast it on. Something like Alt+right click on an ability will ping and message your team you are ready to use the ability. This would help when you are playing but don't have access to a mic (sometimes I play late at night) but want to coordinate a gank.

I wanted to toss in something here: This seems like a REALLY good idea for a voice-acting feature. Not every hero has an ability that requires team coordination/awareness or would be suited to a one-liner for all situations, but for those that do a series of pre-recorded voicing clips for select abilities would be great. Mirana's ult is a very good example. I'm assuming this would include some sort of measure to prevent counterstrike-esque mix-mastering "go-to-the-go-g-g-g-go-to-the-front."

Well, isn't that what the green icons below our hero, and the ultimate cool down timer are for? This sorta just takes out the personal communication out of dota. and even if someone has it ready, doesn't mean they are 100% behind your back ready to help you out. I think it would be better to just stick to voice chat. "Ravage is up, I got my blink and i'm right behind you guys". Rather than, Poochop is now ready to use Ravage, even though I'm halfway across the map (Yeah, well people will have to use map awareness too). Or just yesterday, I was like give me 10 seconds my ravage is still down, or I'm 5 seconds from my refresher ravage. Messages will probably flood and like mentioned, not all spells need that sort of mention, I think voice chat is better. Some people don't even read sometimes.
