  • Seeing enemy invokers currently invoked spells - why?

When playing versus an invoker in dota 2 you can see what spells he currently has invoked by clicking on him.
(This is not possible in dota1)
Is this intended? If so, why?

    My reasoning:
No other hero in the game shows the enemy what spells he has leveled up or to what level that they currently are. This is particularly important early game for various reasons (mostly irrelevant to this subject though).
Why in that case can an enemy gain knowledge of what invoker currently has in his ammunition stores?

Or maybe it's just a bug and you were the first to find out?

But in dota2, you can always see what spells your opponent have (not the spell level though).

An insignificant change for most heroes, a (potentially) significant change for invoker.

My opinion is current way is proper way. but that's just me

Shouldn't show, mostly for the shadowwalk issue.

its not like a invoker can make much of a surprise anyways. depending on if he's E + Q or W + Q you know exactly what spells he will use anyways.

It does take away a lot of the surprise element you get with invoker. I don't think it should be shown.

I just feel that there should be some consistency throughout the game.

Why should invoker be the only hero this applies to like this?
What happens if other heroes in the future are implemented that also can invoke/change/switch spells?

What about Rubick when he is implemented in dota 2? Will enemies be able to click on him to see which spell he is carrying? Is it a buff or a nerf that if you miss seeing the text when he steals a spell regarding which spell he stole, or simply are forgetfull then you always have the option to just click him and find out?.

This is different for organized teams (who can simply ask each other on voip) compared to pub games (who might not even get an answer if someone asks).

Just block out any variable spell slots. Invoker, Rubick, Doombringer.

Wasn't able to see the invoked spells in DotA, shouldn't be able to do it in DotA 2. Simple as that.

Nar man, it isn't that simple. Otherwise we could make the argument that since we couldn't share courier without sharing hero control in dota 1, it should be the same in dota 2.

Being the same as dota 1 should be the default position for any design decision, but ultimately we want dota 2 to be an improvement over dota 1, and so not everything will be exactly the same.
