  • Love the UI but

It's too big and the camera is still way too zoomed in.

I understand zooming too far out would be unfair/bad, but it's too zoomed in to the point where it is just annoying.

You say you understand why it needs to be at this level of zoom, then you say its annoying. It's fairly clear to me that valve are happy with the level of zoom, and if they were going to change it at any time it would have been now, along with the new UI and icons. Get used to/over it, or uninstall and go back to whatever game you were playing before hand. This has been argued to death already.

the ui could be zoomed out just a tad "like 10%" but the change will never occur due to it changes the game too much. i recall accidentally being able to zoom out somehow and it was quite nice. i guess yea higher res have the advantage over lower res as shown before on multiple monitors.

          Hey guys,

I am playing on a 24" widescreen monitor at 1920x1080 resolution.

Maybe I need to explain better. I am saying that I understand that Valve wants the camera zoomed in close enough so that the game is built around that camera mechanic - makes one focus more on awareness, and all that type of stuff.

What I am saying, I agree with that, but as Solace said, I think it could/should be zoomed out like 10% or so. I want it zoomed in close and not allow players to zoom SUPER far out, but I think a slight adjustment would really help the camera system feel less obnoxious, and still keep the feel of DOTA 2 with the limited onscreen restrictions.

Not sure if that makes sense.

TLDR, keep the camera limited to a close zoom, but bump the zoom out by 10% or so because at its current zoom it's just obnoxious.

I finally stopped playing because I couldn't stand the lack of visibility. It's a pretty game with pretty characters that wants to force you to stare at the minimap most of the time. OP, it will never change. The guy that told you to uninstall sounds like an ass, but it's actually good advice. Dota was invented in a time when people ran their games at 640x480 resolution. I have a 1920x1200 monitor and refuse to game with blinders on just because Dota doesn't translate to modern times well.

HUD looks great, perhaps more info can be added, but its really optimized. What I hate is the background for empty inventory slots, awful.
