There's no logic behind it, only bias.

You can see when your teammate has his ultimate up because this game is about teamwork, but you can't see when your teammate needs assistance because? Right, because you dislike some other game that happened to display the amount of health your teammates have, how dare they to do this in a game that is about TEAMWORK, wow. You're absolutely right, I should monitor my teammates better, silly me actually thinking about paying attention to my hero.

Now, sorry for my rant, but I'm sick of people making it about LoL. Just because you dislike it doesn't mean that you have to go around and shove it in everyones face.
He asked why, I answered. I said I wouldn't mind this as an option, but I don't like it if it is forced up my ass. Also, this would be a buff to Chen. Deal with it.

EDIT: And yes, I am biased. It's hard not to be when I have played DotA for quite some time and see the "skill required" to play a certain role be taken away by unneeded changes.

Also, here's a similar suggestion by squinte except this one doesn't take up extra screen space.

I do not agree this. I think it will ruin the look of the game and as someone else applied that it looks like LoL..

    1. Because I want to play Dota, not LoL.
    2. Because I think that it actually takes some skill to play a support, and doing it properly in the middle of a fight requires some awareness of what's going on, and I don't want to remove that challenge.

Adding voice chat made team communication easier, this is unnecessary. If your mek user doesn't notice your hp is low when it shows up in the middle of their screen, what makes you think they'll notice it on the top of their screen? The only thing this changes is chens ultimate because it's global, but this is where map awareness comes into play.

The change to the shop system, courier, glyph, etc were all positive changes, this is unnecessary.

You guys should stop thinking that "artificial difficulty" (having to click the enemy to see his mana, not being able to see allies HP on the HUD) means skill. It just means "uh you gotta press 1 additional button but it's gonna waste you a lot of time"

    Which setting?

The teammates sidebar is too much details. I prefer a more elegant solution :-)

Other than mekasm and Chen, those with arcane boots will appreciate the mana bars in a teamfight.

The low hp glowing red portrait will also help others warn teammates unaware that they are potential food for bloodseeker or Zeus ult.

    Thank you for ilnks Panther!
A support player should have the awareness to see who needs help in a teamfight, who he should help, and when. I don't think the game should do this for him.
