On the other hand, you have the newbies who want to play the game better in pubs and serious pub players that don't mind this as an option as it will make pub games without voice chat more enjoyable since team chat is already minimal anyway.
Valve has always said they wanted Dota2 to be more receptive for newbies and this is just that. Based on recent updates, Valve is trying to make non-verbal/chat easier. The fact that one can now ping runes to let others know what type of rune there is without typing in chat "regen rune here!!!" is an indication of the way to go.
I foresee this to be implemented in the near future. Fingers crossed!
