  • [Suggestion] Mini Hero portraits on top left hand corner, same as warcraft 3.

It has been half a year but the mini hero portraits from Warcraft 3 aren't here. In dota 1, if I use Lycanthrope I can group all my creeps and right click on the mini protrait, and they will follow my hero, making it easier for me to use multiple units. Can I humbly request for the devs to implement

We have in the top bar so we don't need it.

Perhaps the devs can make it as a classic hud, even before dota I have been playing Warcraft and that hero portrait has been there for 8 years for me.

That heroes in the top bar doesn't allow units that you have to follow them when you right click on it. Also, the recent game between TongFu and Zenith had the hero Chen losing all his creeps due to misclicks on the map. I am sure the devs can make it easier to control the units.

Go to options, and activate the option that allows you to control units without selecting them while holding a button (Ctrl).

Basically it's a million times better than letting your summons follow you, blocking your path and such. In this case, the mini-portrait is very unneeded because of the many features implemented already that allows you to do more than what wc3 could offer. Maybe a toggle for it would be okay, but really mastering the current HUD system is a hundred times better, wiser, and more efficient.

I really don't understand how "mastering" the current system will allow me to play it better. I played over a hundred games in dota 2 and no matter how many times I look at it, Warcraft 3 system allows me to micro many times more efficient than Dota 2 does. The top portraits doesn't even indicate your hero's health and mana bars, which Warcraft 3 does. And "Basically it's a million times better than letting your summons follow you, blocking your path and such.", that's your OPINION on how people are finding Dota 2 system. There's absolutely no proof that people think Dota 2 HUD system = 100, 1,000,000 times better than Warcraft 3. Warcraft 3 is meant to be made as a micro-intensive game, while Dota 2 is hero oriented, and I completely and utterly disagree that Dota 2 is even close to Warcraft 3's ease of micro.

A bit offtopic, but I agree to the point that microing was more intuitive and easy in wc3. I never lost the complete picture of where my units are doing what, or what units i selected. Ordering multiple units doing different things in dota2 seems more effort and less intuitive. In wc3, there was no need to make them just "follow my hero". Sounds like a cheap getaround.
