  • Control Group Overhead Numbers

    A simple suggestion. I think the option should exist that, when you set a control group, units in that control group have a small number above their head corresponding to the group. For example, Chen has two Troll Warlords. Both are in different control groups, but it's difficult to tell which is which without manually flipping to each control group to recheck constantly. Instead, have a little "1" or "2" above each unit's head that corresponds to the control group they're placed in. This would also help for Visage's ulti, given that his familiars are identical to one another.

      PLEASE VALVE, ADD THIS, i cant for the life of me micro without this feature, I keep forgetting what keybind i've set diffrent units to on chen or enchantress, i have no idea which meepo is which etc.

      WOULD BE SUPER HELPFUL!

      also, if a unit is in 2 or more control groups, it should should all of them!

          Imo, the only overhead numbers that should be added should only be for meepo to distinguish which is which. 1, 2, 3, 4, corresponding to each following meepo, not your control groups.

          On topic, -1. if you forget your control groups then you obviously haven't played enough games to get used to microing and your own play style.

            It is needed because when you have a lot of units with same models you need to distinguish them from each other quickly. T-up. Also, this feature exists in most rts games.

                I don't see how this suggestion means that you aren't learning to play. Adding numbers overhead won't boost your skill level, it'll just provide some convenience and remove something that's, in my opinion, just a hindrance. It really isn't game changing. It makes heroes that aren't played too often or too well more accessible-- you still need skill to use them to their fullest potential.

                But I agree that it would be most useful for heroes that have identical looking units.
