  • Add Ancient's health at the top of the screen when it's going down

I played HoN for a while and I prefer Dota completely. However, there's one thing that I would like to see in Dota that HoN had. When an Ancient was beginning to go down, HoN adds a small thin health bar to the top of the screen beneath the Day/Night indicator to show you how much health your/their Ancient has without you having to physically check, so that you can continue your defense of the Ancient unhindered.

No, this effects gameplay. You need to have enough responsibility as a player to check your base. I've seen some competitive games won because someone snuck their way in and started beating down the ancient. It's much more sneaky the way it is.

No. It effects gameplays. Scrubs don't realise that, but its fine as it is. Whoever doesn't like it should go back to HoN.

No it does not, scrubs saying otherwise should go take an iq test and realize their input is not valuable.

            It improves the game.

So what if it's from HoN? It improves the game.

So what if it effects gameplay? IT IMPROVES THE GAME.

The reason Dota 2 exists is not to make DotA. DotA already exists. It's to make the best Moba game ever.
Anything that improves the game should be put in.

More cluttering isn't needed. It provides nothing you could use while defending your ancient. Therefore it's not needed.

A thin line under team hero portraits wont cause any cluttering but it will help you evaluate the situation better.

In Monday Night Combat and its sequel, there is a small part of the HUD dedicated to the Moneyball's (aka Ancient's) health. Although it does not tell you EXACTLY how much health there's left, it tells you if the Ancient is at 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25% health. This wouldn't hurt, especially in long games, where every tower on the map is down and even someone sneaking in and attacking the Ancient is sure to win the game.

If anything, I wouldn't mind this method. It flashes when the damage level is hit and then fades out. No constant HP bar for the Ancient. This structure is important enough that you should be minding it to not need a constant HP bar. Would be nice along with the audible cue, so if people are playing without sound, or are hard of hearing, they can at least know that their main structure is being attacked. This wouldn't keep players from sneaking into the base anymore than the sound already does. It acts as more of a reminder rather than a babysitting method.

Sometimes the announcer is busy knocking down brews and watching sports or something... Happens all the time where towers go down and no announcer.

Totally against it. One pro game was really epic because one team was taking down the enemies ancient and didnt notice what was going on in their own base and lost because of that. It was on of the most epic games, it wouldn't had happened if that indicator would be added.
