    Hey guys

    and again i have a range suggestion... why does shadow fiends first skill (in fact there are three with three different ranges) have no range marker when you hover over the icon?! is there a reason for this or is it just not implemented yet?!
    i would like to see it soon in the game

    It doesn't have a range icon because it's a skillshot with a fixed range for each variant of the skill. It's just a matter of learning to gauge the distance properly.

      i know^^
      what i mean is that it would be nice to see the ranges of the different variances while hovering over the icons (the same way like all other skills)

        This has already been discuss, think mostly denied this because people didnt want an easy game. I can agree with you in some way it seems strange he doesnt have the range circle.

        But SF is a high skillcap hero which he was in wc3 dota also, I think the most will want to keep it this way. having visible range circles will reduce his skillcap.

          How does having a range indicator when you hover onto the skill button decrease the hero's skillcap?!

            People are stupid, there are a lot noob shadow fiend players are rising.

            They only depend on right clicks and do no use the razes at all.

            I played with this guy who maxed out presence of the dark lord first. never used a raze once.

            I checked his history he had like 6 wins in a row with shadow fiend.

            I think there is a script online that will give you indicator or something.

              I agree on this one... In fact, I want all skills, even toggle-skills, to show their range... I don't think any of this would be an exploit. I am a decent SF user, and I don't need these, but I still want to see the exact range of my skills, including Pudge's Rot, and stuff... I think Slardar's stun has an indicator, last time I checked, so why not the other heroes?

                I think it's ok... it would be too easy really. It should involve more than autoattack since it's very efficient for farming too.

                  Well, cast ranges don't really work for SF since his razes affect an area in front of him; not a target point. Showing a cast range circle (around the entire hero like for meat hook, magic missile, etc) would be misleading. Showing an AoE circle in front of him (as with light strike array or storm bolt, except centered on the spot in front of SF) would make it too easy.

                  Hence, no "cast range" by default.

                  If you want to check ranges, use the console command.

                    Pudges Hook Range indicator is ridiculous enough.. so easy to hook now.. same with arrow.. make them active in tutorial, but not in a real game.. Dota 2 Skilllevel somehow drifts more and more to LoL level..
                    Give me my old Traxex back, the one with ice-cold eyes and face paint!

                    Why do carries get all credit for winning a game where he goes 30 min afk farming while the rest is defending everything?

                      pudge hook has its skill ranged when hovered, im not sure if mirana has one or not, im pretty sure windrunner has one

                      having a skill range shown while hovered is great,
                      it means you can memorize the range and estimate your shots accordingly

                      to all those damn users who cant read, HOVER OVER ICON, NOT ACTIVELY SHOWING IT ALL THE TIME

                      HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE MATCHMAKING? MUTE SYSTEM? THINKING EVERYBODY IS INFERIOR TO YOU?

                          Yeah it doesn't matter because people on this board are so up in arms that they don't even bother reading the threads. These boards should be made invite only, it makes no sense to discuss anything when everyone is either whipping out the "entitled" card or just blindly replying with idiotic remarks on "what the game should be" to any kind of suggestion / complaint without even reading. All skillshots in the game have range indicators on hover, this could easily be considered a bug.
