  • BUG: Lone Druid and his Bear when chasing!

    Hello,
    1st, Im not sure where to post this, it is a suggestion to fix a bug for a hero.
    If this is the wrong place, please let me know where I should post this.

    2nd:
    So, I've started playing Lone Druid a week ago, and I've played maybe 20-30 matches with him... I absolutely love him!
    The only thing is that it is hard to manage the 2 units. But that is fine, and it is not the problem.

    The problem is this:

    When you have the 2 units (Druid and Bear) selected, and you click on them to go somewhere or chase an enemy, if the bear is behing the druid, the bear will run up to the druid and lag behind him (the bear will just run into the druid).
    That is very annoying, and I really don't see why this should happen... It is already hard enough to manage the 2 units properly, we should try to limit bugs like this.

    When I tell my 2 units to chase someone, I want them to go after that person, and if they face an obstacle, then go around it.

    For exemple:
    I have both the druid and the bear selected, and the bear is behind the druid at that time.
    I tell them to chase a hero. The bear takes off, towards the hero then oops the druid is in the bear's way, so the bear runs around the druid (just like it would be a tree or a creep) and keeps chasing the hero
    ...

    I mean, I think that would be fair. You are telling both your units to chase someone. It would be nice if they did it properly. This is even more frustrating, because in my case, most of the time, the bear will be starting behind the druid, and will be faster than the druid... so he catchs up to the druid, and just lags behind... Also, when you are chasing people, especially early game, when your only slow is the entangle from your bear, or venom orb, you don't want your bear to lag behind the druid when you tell them both to chase, because it is the bear that has a chance of slowing the enemy down.

    And like I said... I really don't see why this should happen. I hope it is a bug.


    Please fix so I can keep playing Lone Druid! Thanks

    You should probably just learn to play the game.

          Dota 2 pathing is terrible, http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=29948 case in point.

          I hope they aren't just ignoring these issues, but actually working on them.

            Hmm...If the Bear is blocking Sylla, or Sylla is blocking the bear, build Phase Boots for both of them. When they're near each other, use them in one (or both) of them. Not that hard, just bind Sylla to one key, the bear to another, and both of them to a 3º one. It makes it easier. The rest, like playing Enchantress, Chen, or even Meepo, is all about learning. And how you learn? Playing, and playing.
            Too lazy to write something with any sense. That's why i spam this here: My DevianArt account, my YouTube Channel, and my Steam Account.

                Very useless comment. Im still learning to play the game. But my point still makes sense. If my bear is faster than the Druid, then why wouldn't he just path around the Druid to get to a point or an enemy?

                  Yes, phase boots is a good way to deal with that... but what if I don't want to go for phase boots in my build... and especially not on both the bear and the druid.

                  About learning and playing, that is what Im doing. And I obviously have key binds for the bear and the druid lol, why are you mentioning this? Like I said, I've played Lone Druid at least a little bit before posting this.

                  But I think it would just be nice if the bear would path around the druid or vice-versa if one is faster than the other and they are trying to get to an enemy or a certain point. Do you have any point against this idea? Why do you think they should keep it the way it is?
                  Why not make it so it just makes sense? I have both my units targeted, and I click on an enemy to start chasing... they should both try to get to the enemy using the fastest path possible, that means going around any obstacle, including the bear or druid themselves.

                    Sometimes we just think too much, I think Eye of Skadi should be core item for OD, but it doesnt stack with his orb-effect skill even when EoS isnt orb and just a buff-placer, dont means it will be implemented.

                    You're learning, thats cool, you dont need phase on both, just in one of them, I suggest on bear, but its easily to use stuffs on Druid, so if youre learning try a phase on druid... you'll do better.

                    Blocking/pathing is part of dota gameplay, so, if heroes like LD, Meepo, Chen had easy mechanichs like that things would get lot easier and prolly imbalanced.

                      Totally agreed with you. It's part of the game to learn of our own misstakes and keep learning. For example, when i had like 20 wins, i was building Daedalus and Desolator, thinking that their effects would stack with that Auto-attack poison, without thinking that a Manta would been 10 times better (for the passive).

                      After all, you can build WHATEVER you need, no matter if it's good or not. I usually do Force Staff on Void and Magina, just to be able to TOTALLY go away from battles or chase people with no problem (or even save teammates and be somewhat usefull, they usually just farm for 30 minutes).

                      In your example, just build phase for the bear (when you're in bear form, the bear will usually be faster than you), and use it when you will end up blocking him. After all, you don't have any disable, but the bear does, and he needs to go first.

                      What i don't know if a Force Staff on the Bear would work. Need to test that.
