Thread: Game Files?

    Game Files?

    Was doing some webapi work when I realized that I needed heroes.txt. I can get it off the internet, but I decided that it was high time I went digging around in Dota's game files again, only to realize that I have no clue where Dota's files are stored on macs.

    I'm pretty mac-illiterate, but shouldn't I be able to access these files? I can't seem to find them. Any help would be appreciated.

    Found them. Turns out Macs hide the necessary folders from you.

    Steps: Go into terminal, enter

    $ chflags nohidden ~/Library

    And then the Steam folder is inside Application Support.

    don't change the system settings unless you really need to. you can find the game files easily from steam client: library > alt click the game > properties > local files > browse local files.

    specifically use this tab to backup the game installation or remove the game, doing it manually is not a preferred solution when you have such options at client.
