    Hi,

I'm sure I saw a link somewhere about parsing items.txt, but I lost it – does anyone have this information?

Looking at the file, I don't see a simple "name" field. Is it better to use http://www.dota2.com/jsfeed/itemdata ?

    Thanks.

Edit: Found it – https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/KeyValues – my question regarding which is better remains though.

I guess the dota2.com one has no guarantee to remain there. The (official) API has a much bigger chance of being persistent.

The items.txt file has keys such as "item_black_king_bar" – where can I find translations of these keys, at least for English?

i.e. given "item_black_king_bar", I want to get the name "Black King Bar".

Is this data somewhere in the game files?

    Thanks.

Hi guys, I'm using the jsfeed API, but I don't see Chinese. Is there a way to get Chinese localized strings?

    http://www.dota2.com/jsfeed/heropickerdata?l=tchinese for Traditional Chinese
    http://www.dota2.com/jsfeed/heropickerdata?l=schinese for Simplified Chinese

BTW, its easy to know how to use the parameter. You just have to go to http://www.dota2.com/heroes/, go to the language dropdown and hover over the language you want. You can then see the language parameter being used for every language in the dropdown.
