    why don't you guys just trade them for vanilla? I'm pretty sure a lot of people want free socket on their item.

    Absolutely correct. If we paid for a tool to put the socket in, we shouldn't have to pay to have it removed.
    It should be revertible to its original state in the first place, like with name and description tags.
    And yes, we do need this option, I don't care for inscribed items and I prefer to have them all clean.
