Thread: What Matches Count for Points?

    What Matches Count for Points?

    Hi,

It doesn't seem it was posted anywhere exactly which matches count for fantasy points...and it significantly affects which players are good.

e.g. this thread on Reddit brings up a good point: http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/commen...ts_broken_ush/
The only possibility I can think of is NEL since it has a ticket, but that would be absurd if it counted toward Fantasy.

And is a tournament like this going to count? http://www.liquiddota.com/forum/dota...-dota-2-league
This would make more sense, but it doesn't seem to have a ticket in-game.

Does JDL count? It's mostly amateur teams with very frequent games, so it would be easy points...

It would be incredibly helpful if we knew what tournaments counted, and even had some sort of schedule.

[Our draft/league has been running smoothly though, the update today fixed a couple issues as well, so thanks!]

    Completely agree.

If we don't know which matches count then it is just blind luck to know who gets biggest score. I can't believe the fantasy league launched like this.

All registered tournament matches count. I believe (I am speculating) that it is pretty automated. Admins of tournaments create a tournament game. Pro players join in. They play. At the end of game points are generated and awarded.

If some tournament admins abuse their position by making tournament games even though there were no tournament scheduled for that day you will see some wrongfully awarded fantasy points.
Very similar to the tournament heroic item drops.

In our league, Ush from SNA got 78.4 points and ppd from EG got 15.0 points. I cannot find record anywhere of where either SNA or EG played a game in the last day. Not to mention all of the other EG drafted players are still on 0 points. Is this truly correct and has anybody got a source for these games?

    From their dotabuff profiles:
    Ush - http://dotabuff.com/players/115975133/matches
    ppd - http://dotabuff.com/players/86727555/matches

It looks like both of them played quite a few practice match CM games with other pros (inhouse league?). No idea why these would be counting but that looks to be what happened.

Yes I agree that's probably what is happening, but I guess my original post is a thinly veiled complaint that this should NOT be happening. Otherwise NEL + JDL players are worth MUCH more than standard Tier 1 players (Silent/Dendi/Arteezy/Era/etc...)

    I would hope there's a good tournament cut-off.

ALSO, NEL is even more ridiculous as there's no bracket etc...so infinite games can be played and there's absolutely no way to know of the schedule.

Yes this is NEL, which IMO shouldn't count.
