    Ubuntu random fps drop

I am running dota 2 on ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a laptop with bumblebee/primus. My launch options are: optirun -b primus %command%

The game runs fine on max setting at 60 fps around 1-2mins in-game. However the frame rate starts to drop around 21-30fps n wont change even changing the settings. After a while the fps goes back to 60 n then drops again.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    Laptop Specs:

    CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz × 8
    RAM: 8 GiB
    GPU: GeForce GT 650M

Sudden jump from 60 to 30 fps then back makes me think about vsync issues.

Note that even if you disable vsync in a game, it may still be enforced at the driver level. However I have no clue how that would play out in your setup.

Make sure you disable Vsync from both compiz settings and Nvidia control panel. Report back with results.
