    Uh, the released version of the engine supports both dx, ogl, and vulkan (through the non-released rendersystemmantle.dll, iirc).

    There is no rendersystemmantle.dll in game files right now. The current version of Source 2 works on DirectX. The Vulkan implementation takes more time.

    The file "rendersystemmantle.dll" is referenced in a few places in the binaries, so it obviously exists, it's just not part of the set of binaries marked for release (probably due to some restrictions on releasing vulkan-related materials early). It was also demoed at GDC this year in a fairly working state. Compiling an uncompiled shader with resourcecompiler with the -mantle flag will attempt to load rendersystemmantle.dll and generate the relevant VCS files.
