So you can start flaming the player with the lowest stats before the game starts?

There should be some kind of an private section in the Dota Profile. In this section, only you can see more detailed statistics about yourself life average K/D/A, CS, Wards etc. Maybe with an option to enable all players to see this stats too.
The public section should only show things like total games played, wins, losses and most played heroes along with the last played matches.

As long as K/D/A is hidden, it'll be ok.

If not, fountain farming and 5x carries on MM will be 50 times worse.

Stats for casual matchmaking games really need to stay hidden. DotA2's community is awful compared to games like SC2, but is a godsend compared to HoN, where stat-whoring and e-peen contests have turned the population into possibly the worst video game community in history.

Until there's ranked, competitive matchmaking, I'd rather everything stay hidden. People are already playing in inhouse leagues and scrims to ensure good competition, seeing someone's KDR will have such a negative affect on the community that I don't think it could be justified at the moment.
Change has kept DotA alive, evolving, and improving since 2002. And now DotA has an entire new engine at it's disposal, with infinite new capabilities.

So why are there so many DotA fundamentalists/conservatives that oppose new features, options, and information?

    Embrace the change.

There are no good arguments to see k/d or w/l stats is beneficial to the game whatsoever.
In the most competitive games out there (quake, cs and the like) the only stats that matter are the stats in the current game. It is in my humble opinion that valve would be doing a disservice to the genre by creating unneeded competition based solely on numbers that in no way represent individual skill levels.

In matchmaking the need for these stats are rendered inert by the fact that you do not choose your teammates, so the only effect stats would have is the facilitation of further conflict within teams. Need an example? Check HoN. Tis wole pink/blue vs orange/brown is detrimental to the point of insanity.

It also brings up the fact that there will be players who would otherwise choose to continue playing to cease play and remain AFK in order to preserve good K/D values. Reporting them would only lead to infractions post game, too late now that a game is ruined.

NO! I am against these, You could see win/loss of every game but not of all games at once. AND NO stats.
