Thread: Moving the minimap

    Moving the minimap

This has probably been posted before, but it needs to be echoed. The minimap REALLY needs to have a secondary position, hence the right hand side of the screen. In warcraft 3 there wasnt really anything you could do about it, but from a design perspective it makes zero sense to have the minimap in the bottom left corner when the entire map is focused around offensive and defensive movement from top right to bottom left and vice versa.

I know that apparently you can adjust the delay for missclicks on the map higher in console, but I really dont want to do that, because I actually actively use clicks on the minimap. All the time. Giving people the option to move the map would be the simplest way of eliminating the chance of reducing the chance of missclicks on the map while still letting people like me who actively use the minimap play as they always have.

I beg of you, implement this change, it is a significant change for the ones who use it, it has minimal impact on competetive play and the skill curve at large and it makes so much more sense from a design perspective.

You will get told that this "is not LoL you noob" or to "l2p you noob". Fyi.

This can be an issue for accidentally misclicking on the minimap, but I don't think it's a huge issue. Just look at RTS games like Starcraft 2, their minimaps are also bottom left.

they play on more than one map and they aren't all top right bottom left oriented.

Yes this was mentioned before and I'm not sure why they haven't added this option yet. Some people.. when they react quickly.. hit minimap when retreating causing their hero to turn around to certain death.

And we should get AN OPTION.. to change the position of the minimap.. and not just that. Everything that they implement there should be an option to shut it down or leave it on = so both sides are happy... the + ones and - ones.

I will keep posting in this thread so it stays on top. Cus this should be resolved by now and sadly it isn't. Hopefully they spot it

    No.
It takes more skill not to missclick the minimap. You LoL noobs need to l2p.

    /troll

of course it is an option that should be available and should be implemented asap.

the minimap is badly designed mostly in the sense that it is taller than the rest of the hud. i dont think people ever accidentally right click anywhere else on the hud BUT the minimap. having an option to change it to the right side is a good idea. but some people, like myself, have just been playing with the current minimap position so long, it would be too difficult to change. better they just resize the minimap to be consistent with the rest of the hud. and perhaps also have an option for right siders
