Thread: Is GetBotNames() nil???

    Is GetBotNames() nil???

    I already use this line to check varitey of bot names
    Code:
    print( GetBotNames() )
    but i got this error:

    beta\game\dota\scripts\vscripts\bots\hero_selection.lua:30: attempt to call global 'GetBotNames' (a nil value)
    does anyone encounter with this problem up to now??

    It isn't for LUA. It's for C++.

    This is how you use it:

    Code:
    function GetBotNames ()
    	return  {"ChrisC", "SIKIM", "Shoelace", "Cornbane",  "nostrademous", "The Nomad", "IceFrog"}
    end
    Then, when the game starts it picks random names from that list.

    I wish custom names didn't have (bot) at the end, because you can see the 'bot' underneath the heroes at the score screen at the end.

    They have Bot on the native code too. This is a good way to distinguish custom bots from native ones.
    Also, it protects from name spoofers.

    I understand. I just personally wish I could change it, because like I said, it has 'bot' at the scoreboard anyways. However, I guess that would require screenshots of evidence, when players are competing in their small tournaments and stuff.

    When I said about the screenshots, I was just giving out a flaw in my idea.
